About Cassette

The four piece band consists of members Jon Savage (vocals), Jane Breetzke (keyboard), Nathan Waywell (bass) and Andrew Wessels (drums). After taking a break for a year to focus on other projects, the band reunited in 2011 to record a new studio album. Its latest single, recorded for the upcoming album, Gogogo (featuring legendary hip hop superstar, JR) sees the band moving in a new direction, which promises to present a rougher and rawer sound. The band has been nominated six times for a SAMA, winning two, and has achieved seven national hit singles. With no less than eight world tours, the group has been the first South African rock band to play in Japan. Cassette has performed at various local music festivals such as Oppikoppi and the 46664 Concert. They have also been supporting acts for international musicians Pink, Evanescence and Eagle-Eye Cherry.
