Eddie Hinton's album Letters From Mississippi is a soulful and heartfelt tribute to his home state. The album features a mix of original songs and covers that showcase Hinton's powerful vocals and impressive guitar skills.
The album opens with the upbeat and bluesy "Shout Bamalama," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Hinton's cover of Bob Dylan's "Down in the Flood" is a standout track, with its driving rhythm and passionate vocals.

American guitarist, singer and songwriter, as a sessionman worked with: Percy Sledge, Otis Redding, Arthur Conley, Aretha Franklin, Johnnie Taylor, Wilson Pickett, Joe Tex, Solomon Burke, Johnny Jenkins, Boz Scaggs and many others.
From the late 1970s began his own solo career.
Born: June 15, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Died: July 28, 1995 in Birmingham, Alabama.

We loved Eddie and always will! Too many never even witness old southern white Soul Men that always wanted to grow up ,to become, old black men,true blues men, they suffered and became, the fathers of the blues. FEW of them ever achieved it, BUT ,I testify to the fact ,that Eddie Hinton made it! He grew up and became all he had ever dreamed of becoming! He got off in it!
