The use of eerie synths and echoing percussion creates a sense of unease that is present throughout the album. "What About Us," the title track, is a standout with its driving bassline and hypnotic melody. It's a track that is sure to get dancefloors moving.

Innershades' use of samples is also notable on this album. "My People" features a sample of a speech by Martin Luther King Jr., adding a political dimension to the album. "The Future Is Ours" features a sample of a child's voice, which adds a haunting and nostalgic feel to the track.
